Finger Lakes Simply Red Lakeside Bistro is in the News Again.

Chef Sam Izzo is in the Democrat and Chronicle Rochester newspaper telling the whole Sam Izzo Story. She has quite a history traveling all over the US after coming from South Africa.

Most of you know the story of her and Gary coming to the Inn to find a place to stay for their guests attending their wedding before they lived in Trumansburg. We spoke for a long time and when I found out that she was a chef, I told her we needed a restaurant in our village. The idea was planted so the lease sign in the village cafe window was all she needed to get the ball rolling. The rest is history.

Don't fret about Sam not being in Trumansburg anymore, she is the catering Chef for all of all events at the Inn. Just call and schedule an event and enjoy her wonderful food served to you at the Inn.

Congrats to Sam and good luck in NYC. Great photos.

Congratulations to Cayuga Lake Wine Trails Award Winning Wines

Cayuga Lake Wine Trail has been in the news again! Sheldrake Point winery won Winery of the Year for their second year in a row.

We are very proud to be associated with Sheldrake. Cayuga Ridge won an international competition in Germany with their Riesling. They competed with 1900 other Rieslings. Swedish Hill Winery won the Governor's Cup for their Riesling Sparkling wine. It is obvious these wineries got the memo on how to beat the competition.

Congrats to all and enjoy this great harvest time. If you have not visited Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, don't wait because this wine will go fast. While you are here, come stay with a Cayuga Lake Wine Trail Inn. I would be happy to guide you to all of these wineries.

Upstate NY Bed and Breakfast gets a New Website Design

The Inn at Gothic Eves has a new design for its website.  The old site was a nice site but it was showing its age and I wanted to be current.

I wanted potential guests to know that the Inn is in the middle of the Finger Lakes Wine Country, so I used a vineyard motif throughout the site.  I attended the Professional Association of Innkeepers International conference two years in a row to educate myself on the modern ways to market the Inn. It is an intense 4 days of what you need to know to attract people who are shopping for a place to stay for vacation. The information is overwhelming.

The first year I came home and did the first three things on the to-do list. The second year I was not so overwhelmed and was much more ready to take action. This is where I found my photographer and website company, Acorn Designs after searching out a design company that would give us a good product for a good price. I also wanted to have a design that could be finished before the season was over.

Acorn worked for 3 months putting the design together and constructing the site, and also did the marketing for the site. They optimized the site in March and April.

Site photos were taken by Jumping Rocks from Philadelphia, PA. in April. The photographers captured the Inn with 50 photos in just 1 1/2 days. KC and Mitch from the Halsey House in Trumansburg helped get the Inn in shape before the photos in March and April. KC has a real eye for interior design and was also responsible for encouraging me to go to the conference in the first place. We went into each room and critiqued it for its quality, comfort and design, and ended up getting all new rugs, many side tables, lots of chairs, sofas, lamps, and bedding. We turned both houses around in 5 weeks.

I had so much fun and was exhausted before the busy season even started!

I want to thank these companies and associates for their help and support to produce such a wonderful website. Let me know what you think.
