Cayuga Lake Bed and Breakfast Gets a Facelift: The National Geographic Room

When coming to the Upstate Region of NY to relax and enjoy the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, you need a comfortable place to stay. The Inn at Gothic Eves is located between Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake Wine Trail. The location allows for multiple day stays to this region. To be the place that makes you happy and gives you all that you need to be comfortable during your stay, changes have been made to accommodate your requests. This post is the beginning of many to come. Follow the progress during makeovers to all  rooms at the Inn with before and after pictures.

The National Geographic Room, an upstairs room with a king bed and a single bed, had a few challenges for  guests. As much guests returned and requested this room, they also commented about the lighting, sound, space and extra seating in the room.

The before picture is to the right. Wallpaper has always caused decorating problems when matching it to the linens, so I opted to change the linens and spreads for the bed to more of a Champagne color. A wall of fabric was added behind the bed to warm up the room and quiet the room. A larger rug with a great design was brought in to coordinate with the rooms decor. In addition, 3 side tables, a chair, and two lamps were added which also increased the comfort and space for guests. Finally, the National Geographic Magazines were removed, and the room was re-christened The Chardonnay Room.

With pride, I present The Chardonnay Room,

pictured to the right. Come check out the newest room in the Finger Lakes Region of NY and be one of the first to stay in this newly renovated room.

Family Reunions in the Finger Lakes NY

There is a new service for our guests:  a place for you to have your Finger Lakes Bed and Breakfast Family Reunion, or other event.

After two years of consideration, Simply Red Lakeside Bistro and The Inn at Gothic Eves are combining our talents and providing a private place to celebrate most any occasion with the foods and drinks from Simply Red. Most of you know that we have worked together since Sam came to town some 8 years ago, and it has blossomed into a beautiful relationship!

The Inn's two houses with their dining rooms and parlours provide special atmosphere for New York family reunions. With the addition of the Slate Terrace outside the Potter House and the Garden Room outside the Dining Room of the Main House, we have created space to provide small sit-down dinners or cocktail parties for a larger group. The outdoor space created between the two houses allows for great picnics which can be enhanced with a fire pit and outdoor wood-fired Hot tub.

Call for information to see if you would like to have your event at the Inn.

Finger Lakes Bed and Breakfast Gets a Facelift

April Fools Day is often a day of tricks, good humor, jokes, and usually lots of laughter. The Inn at Gothic Eves will use April 1st as a day to call for action and not be a fool:  a fool who stands back and slowly loses their customer base.

After two great innkeeping conferences and many informational Webinars helping to develop a plan of action, a new optimized website with links to the Inn's Facebook, Blog and Twitter accounts has been activated.

Using these tools, guests will be provided more real-time information about area events and goings on in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of NY.  Follow us!

I have hired a great photographer to come this April to show off the facility, too, to actively pursue business and our customers. This is not all, the Inn is getting an interior decorating facelift including new area rugs, tables, lamps, and lots of comfortable chairs, sofas and ottomans. Check out all the new duds when you stay with us this year.

I hope that you find the changes to your liking.  Most of the bedrooms have lots of changes but the most change occurred in the National Geographic Room. This room needed a major facelift, and got it with new bedspread, pillows, a large rug, two chairs, two bedside tables and last but not least it has one wall covered with fabric. Major changes were also made to the Main House Parlour in the form of a leather sofa and chairs that are so comfortable. Look for future posts on the Inn upgrades when the photos are ready at the end of April.

This spring I am energized and ready for business. I look forward to taking care of you.
